I’m new to the ranting of tumblr but today just got me thinking. 8 official days of school left and I just had possibly the last band concert of high school and probably my life. On my way back home I caught the train with a couple of friends from the band and we noticed; the group we had was the same group who we took the train with every morning two years ago. That and the fact that we just finished our last concert together made us reminisce about the changes that happened over the four years that have passed by so quickly.
So I got to thinking. I’m a senior in high school leaving for American University in a month to begin training for D1 wrestling. If you had told me that this was my future 3 years ago I would’ve said you’re crazy I could never be good enough. If you would’ve told me that 2 years ago I would’ve said yea right that’s only my dream. If you would’ve told me that last year I would’ve told you of course I would expect nothing less of myself. It’s thoughts like this one that got me thinking about not only how much I’ve changed but how the people I hang out with and the people I used to hang out with have changed. Whether they be ex-girlfriends, old best friends, or even the person I used to take the train with every day I can’t say that anyone has remained the same since freshman year and most of them have changed for the better.
I can only hope that in another four years from now, when I see all these people again, I can say we haven’t changed so much that we wouldn’t enjoy another train ride together.
